The Orangeville Lions Club

Serving the community since 1949!

Our Story

The Orangeville Lions Club was proudly established on April 12, 1949. With twenty-one men dedicated to service, the club began by training school crossing guards in 1950. This was immediately followed by busing our young people to the Fergus Pool from 1951 to 1953. Club members rolled up their sleeves and built Orangeville's first outdoor community pool in 1953.

Everyone enjoyed the Lions famous hotdogs with fried onions. The fair included many games of chance for all ages and several rides. The fair was held in June which signaled the end of another school year.

"We’re the largest service club in the world with 1.4 million men and women guided by kindness to serve our communities and the world in times of need. "
